JUNK PSA 5: A Plastic Diet

Beyond simply a disagreeable eyesore, plastic debris has far more dangerous impacts on marine wildlife that commonly mistake plastic for a snack. Heres JUNK to tell you more, straight from the North Pacific Gyre:
And here is the rest of it.

When I used to live in Hawaii, I often saw the birds, turtle and other marine lives' been tortured by plastic with my own eyes as well as on TV. It's such a shame when we/human being become so selfish and cruel disposing plastic in to the beautiful nature. So sad :( Good luck, guys!!! I'll be back again :)

Wow, we are totally fucking ourselves and the whole world over. I hate to think of it, but the disagreeable feeling it gives us is not an excuse to do nothing about it. Yikes...we suck.

That's sad. :( I think it's amazing what y'all are doing tho-- It'll make me think twice next time I'm about to get something made of plastic (ironically, my blog focuses on plastic in a different sense of the word).

Congrats guys - what you're doing is great! You're an inspiration to all of us.

It reminds me a little of Life of Pi - I hope you don't have a tiger on board with you!

My interest was orinally the raft trip itself. You have joined the likes of T.R Pearson, John Haslett and of course the grandaddy of them all Thor Heyerdahl. Rafter's are quite possibly the masocists of the sailing world, but my complements's on your quest and reasons for putting yourself thru this. Thank you for an intereting and thought provoking enterprise, i'll be watching your progress.

Where can I contribute to your voyage?
